New endpoint security for small and medium businesses now available with Defender for Business.
Microsoft 365 Business Premium includes the full endpoint security capabilities such as endpoint detection and response to help keep small businesses safe. For customers with Microsoft 365 Business Basic or Standard you can consider upgrading to Business Premium, or we're pleased to offer endpoint security standalone with Microsoft Defender for Business. Purchase endpoint security standalone with Defender for Business from our product page, via the Microsoft Admin Center or through your IT partner. Defender for Business offers enterprise-grade endpoint protection in an easy-to-use and cost-effective package for business with up to 300 employees. For the best onboarding and security management experience we recommend using Defender for Business with Microsoft Intune, both are included in Microsoft 365 Business Premium. Today, endpoint security for iOS and Android requires the use of Microsoft Intune to onboard devices to Defender for Business. The addition of Exchange Online Protection and Microsoft Defender for Office 365 deployment steps brings new security controls for email and collaboration to Lighthouse to help protect against zero-day malware, phish, and business email compromise.

More efficient organization and better access to what you need in OneDrive
Recently, we've been working to provide more efficient ways for you to organize and access your files, no matter where you are working. Easier access across OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams files for team collaboration. Lately we've been focusing on providing you with a more consistent experience when accessing your files across OneDrive, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. Now through OneDrive you can access the Teams you visit most frequently. We've added a dropdown to OneDrive and SharePoint that lets you easily switch between multiple document libraries associated with a Teams team or a SharePoint Site. To easily find and access the places where you regularly work, you can pin shared libraries to the Quick Access section in the left nav of OneDrive. You can stay up-to-date on all things via the OneDrive Blog and the OneDrive release notes.

Deprecating VML Fallback Representation Write for OLE Shape Rendering in PowerPoint
The Vector Markup Language format is a legacy format for OLE shape rendering that is not included in the strict version of the ISO standard for Open Office XML formats but is in the transitional documents for backwards compatibility reasons. The DrawingML format is a newer and richer format meant to replace any uses of VML. PowerPoint has already stopped writing out VML fallback representation for cloud files and will stop writing it out for local files from Version 2205 onwards. As a result of this change, add-ins will no longer be able to write out VML and third-party applications only using the fallback VML representation will lose art if they are not updated to implement against DrawingML, which is more modern. Add-in providers and users who use VML should switch to using the DrawingML format. This change only affects the writing of VML fallback representation; PowerPoint will continue to read the VML format. A regkey, off by default, is available to allow tenants to reverse this change if needed.

Here's what's new and coming soon to Visio in Microsoft 365!
Our worldwide rollout blog has all the details about getting started with Visio in Microsoft 365, but we're excited to announce several recent updates-some available now, and some coming soon to all Visio for the web users. If you've been using Visio in Microsoft 365 since it was first introduced to your tenant, you'll notice a couple new diagram types available from the Visio home page on Office.com; the first of these being organization charts. For questions about which diagram types are included in Visio in Microsoft 365 or which plans include the Visio web app, check out our Visio for the web FAQ. Q: We have a Microsoft 365 commercial plan, but our users still don't see the Visio app tile on Office.com. Q: The Visio tile is lit up for our users; however, Visio does not show up in the Microsoft 365 admin center on the Licenses page. A: Visio in Microsoft 365 is not considered a separate license, but rather a web app-like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint-that is available to users as part of their Microsoft 365 license or as part of Office for the web. A: Yes, you can use Visio in Microsoft 365 to view, create, and edit Visio files in the Safari or Chrome browsers on your Mac.

Announcing account switching for Microsoft 365 web apps
Today, web users can only work with a single account inside of a Microsoft 365 web app, and to use a different account, they must either sign out, use an InPrivate browser window, or a different browser or device altogether. Today, we have some exciting news to share! Soon, Microsoft 365 web users will no longer need workarounds to use multiple work and personal accounts while using any of the Microsoft 365 web apps. Account switching in Microsoft 365 web apps is helpful in many scenarios. To get started with account switching, access any of the Microsoft 365 web apps referenced above and click on the account manager located in the top right corner. While a user can add multiple accounts in a Microsoft 365 web app, only one account will be active per app at a time. Users will still have the ability to switch between their Edge profiles, but we are now bringing the highly requested account switching functionality to the Microsoft 365 web apps. A. The account switching functionality is not available for Microsoft 365 operated via 21Vianet, or Microsoft 365 Government and Germany cloud environments.
