What's new for Microsoft Whiteboard
An image of a user embedding a YouTube video and website link onto the whiteboard from the create panel in Whiteboard. Whiteboard is a new Microsoft Loop endpoint, enabling you to copy and paste Loop components into Whiteboard from Teams chat and soon from Outlook mail and Word for the web. Loop components in Whiteboard help your team continue adding information to lists, tables and more while they brainstorm in Whiteboard. The collaboration doesn't have to end after a synchronous meeting! The whiteboard you and your participants collaborated on can be accessed in the Teams chat under the Whiteboard tab. With the ease of Whiteboard integration in Teams, you and your participants can continue collaborating on the same whiteboard asynchronously. To learn more, visit the Whiteboard product page or the Whiteboard support site. Check out what features are in development or coming soon on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, or view Microsoft Whiteboard roadmap items here.

Share Nearby will be retired from Office Mobile
As we learn more about how users are sharing their documents, we strive to create functionality to meet user needs in the Office app and to work in tandem with iOS and Android to leverage simple sharing across a variety of apps. We have found that the Share Nearby feature to meet some but not all needs. We will be retiring the Share Nearby feature from the Office app as we evolve to offer the best of Microsoft 365 on mobile. This change will affect users of the Office app on Android and will be effective as of December 31, 2022. We made this decision as we continue to reassess the value our users derive from the Office app, and we aim to offer experiences that are consistent, reliable and allow our users to be productive across their devices. You will still be able to send and receive files using this feature until December 31, 2022. The feature will be removed from the Office app.

Making it easier to apply and manage security settings for your users in Microsoft 365
We're excited to welcome one of our Microsoft 365 Supportability team members to talk more about how to manage security settings for users. John: I'd like to share a little background first as part of an ongoing effort to reduce compromised accounts, Microsoft has implemented security policies that ensure our customers are secure by default. The rollout of the Security Defaults policy for newly created Microsoft 365 tenants on all license levels began in 2019 and finished in 2020. Prior to this, and with the rollout of Security Defaults in 2019-2020, our admins had to go to the Azure Portal to manage Security Defaults, some didn't know where to find it initially or weren't expecting MFA-it led to a lot of support calls. With this, admins can manage MFA, Conditional Access policies and security defaults from within Microsoft 365. This setting will apply the Security Defaults policy to your tenant for all users. We believe it's a quick and easy way to secure your tenant using ready-to-apply security settings, such as the Security Defaults or Conditional Access policies depending on your license.
